The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly signed offensive guard Keaton Sutherland, per Field Yates of ESPN.
In what most are calling the most substantial news of the day in the NFL, the 49ers have signed G Keaton Sutherland, who spent last year on the Bengals' practice squad.

Update: The 49ers announced that Sutherland has been signed to a reserve/future contract. Reserve/future contracts are used to claim the rights to players. They take effect at the start of the new league year on March 16, and that's when the players begin counting against the salary cap.
The Cincinnati Bengals signed Sutherland (6-5, 316) as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M in 2019. The Miami Dolphins claimed him off waivers on September 26, 2019, waiving him a year later. Sutherland returned to the Bengals on September 8, 2020, spending 20 days on the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster.
Sutherland, 25, spent this past season on the Bengals practice squad. He has started two games and has six game appearances during his NFL career.
