The San Francisco 49ers announced that the following two players have been activated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
RB Brian Hill
S Jarrod Wilson
The activation of Hill makes sense with running back Elijah Mitchel ruled out for Sunday. There's also a good chance the rookie will be unavailable for the team's Week 16 matchup against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday. On Friday, head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if Mitchell might play coming off the short week of preparation.
Mitchell is expected to be cleared from the concussion protocol by then but is still dealing with the knee injury he sustained in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks.
San Francisco enters Week 15 with a 7-6 record, while Atlanta is 6-7. Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. PT from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. The 49ers are currently a 9.5-point favorite.
The two teams will announce their inactive players 90 minutes ahead of kickoff.
