49ers-Seahawks: Fred Warner, Deebo Samuel among 6 inactives for Niners

Dec 5, 2021 at 11:57 AM--

The San Francisco 49ers have released the list of inactive players for their Week 13 matchup on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. These players will not suit up for Sunday's game.

Inactives:

Linebacker Fred Warner was pushing to play. However, he is inactive for the first time in his career after suffering a hamstring strain last week against the Minnesota Vikings.

On Saturday, San Francisco downgraded linebacker Marcell Harris from "questionable" to "out." He spent this past week in the concussion protocol.

The 49ers placed rookie running back Trey Sermon on the injured reserve list. The team also promoted linebacker Tyrell Adams from the practice squad to the active roster and activated wide receiver River Cracraft and linebacker Justin March from the practice squad. The latter two will revert back to the practice squad on Monday.

49ers' Deebo Samuel, George Kittle among PFF's top offensive duos

By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers would probably love to see Brandon Aiyuk emerge as one of the top receivers in the NFL. That would make an Aiyuk-Deebo Samuel duo a headache for opposing defenses. Until then, the 49ers have two impressive offensive weapons in Samuel and tight end George Kittle. That's good news for second-year quarterback Trey Lance, who is expected to be the team's Week 1 starter after starting only two games as a rookie. The Samuel-Kittle pairing ranks among Pro Football Focus' top five offensive duos heading into the 2022 season. Last year, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan fired up the crowd at the Sonoma Raceway, serving as the Grand Marshal of the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race. This year, another Niner took part in the event. Linebacker Fred Warner was on hand to pilot the official Toyota Camry pace car at the 10-turn race, leading 40 vehicles to the green flag. "I can't wait to do this," Warner said in anticipation of the opportunity, per a statement issued by the Sonoma Raceway. "I've always enjoyed NASCAR, and to get the opportunity to lead the field around an awesome raceway like Sonoma is going to be one of the highlights of my life." Below is a video of

Pelissero: 'Scales are tipping' toward Deebo Samuel playing for 49ers in 2022

By David Bonilla
Jun 14

In April, things got to the point where no one was certain whether or not Deebo Samuel would return to the San Francisco 49ers. The star wide receiver had requested a trade. Then, leading into the draft, there was a lot of chatter surrounding other teams being interested. And why not? In 2021, Samuel was one of the most exciting and dynamic players in the league, and he helped the 49ers reach the NFC title game for the second time in three years. The 49ers never received an offer that came close to being worth considering. It would have taken a lot for head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch to part with Samuel. He is too valuable to the team, especially considering second-year quarterback Trey Lance is expected to be the Week 1 starter in 2022. Taking away a

Bleacher Report: 49ers probably regret not extending Deebo Samuel earlier

By David Bonilla

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox recently listed one offseason regret for each NFL team (h/t Niners Noise). That regret for the Kansas City Chiefs was letting Charvarius Ward depart. In March, the cornerback signed a three-year, $40.5 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers, forcing the Chiefs to use a first-round pick on Trent McDuffie. What about the regret for the 49ers, though? Is it the complicated situation with Jimmy Garoppolo, the veteran quarterback they would love to trade but can't? Is it not directly shooting
