49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo has over 10,000 career passing yards

Nov 21, 2021 at 10:14 AM--

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo entered Week 11, needing just 22 yards to reach 10,000 career passing yards. He got that on his first three passes against the Jacksonville Jaguars and has surpassed the milestone.

The 49ers traded for Garoppolo in 2017. The quarterback entered this weekend, having passed for 9,288 yards during his time with San Francisco. He had 690 passing yards in three years with the New England Patriots before joining the Niners.

San Francisco is 4-5 and seeks to get to .500 with a win against the 2-7 Jaguars.

In addition to his passing-yards total, Garoppolo has 61 touchdowns, 31 interceptions, and a passer rating of 98.6 over his eight NFL seasons.

Few expected San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to start the regular-season finale against the Los Angeles Rams this past weekend. Reports gave the impression that he wouldn't be able to properly grip the football, much less throw it downfield to his receivers. Ian Rapoport reported that Garoppolo is expected to have offseason surgery. Head coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledged that as a possibility. The quarterback has a torn ligament and chipped bone in his right thumb. Still, Garoppolo delivered a gutsy performance, fought through the pain, and led his 49ers to a thrilling 27-24 overtime win at SoFi Stadium. It wasn't until the Tuesday

The San Francisco 49ers will travel to Green Bay next weekend to play the Packers in the Divisional round of the playoffs. It almost didn't turn out that way, though. The 49ers escaped AT&T Stadium with a 23-17 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in one of the most bizarre endings we've seen this season. It came down to the last play of the game, and a miscue by quarterback Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense in the closing seconds sealed the 49ers win. What a way to end the game! #SuperWildCard

By Kirk Larrabee

What did Kyle Shanahan think of Jimmy Garoppolo's performance against the Cowboys on Sunday? And what did D.J. Jones say after the 49ers' 23-17 win over the Cowboys that left Arik Armstead flattered? Let's answer those questions and more in this roundup of notes and quotes from the 49ers' postgame press conferences. * The good and not-so-good for Jimmy G: Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had an up-and-down performance against the Cowboys on Sunday, completing 16-of-25 passes for 172 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception. Garoppolo went 11-for-14 for 133 yards in the first half but cooled down considerably in the second half while having a couple moments that would have proven to be too costly had the Cowboys been able to successfully rally
