When last Sunday's game kicked off at Levi's Stadium, about half of the seats were occupied...an indication that not even the 49er faithful held out hope that the home team would put up much of a fight. But after an afternoon of "Three Stooges" style antics from the officials and marginal play from both teams, the 49ers found themselves locked up in a 13-13 tie late in the 4th quarter...against a 12 point favorite.
But, as usually happens with bad teams, the 49ers couldn't hold the line...and ended up losing, 19-13. Close...but no cigar.
Here's my take on the critical elements of Sunday's matchup...and a look ahead at this Sunday's opponent, the Chicago Bears:
