The San Francisco 49ers are 2-4 heading into Week 8. Before this season, fans had to endure five losing campaigns in six years. What better time to raise prices on season ticket holders, right?
That's what the 49ers are doing, per Jeff Deeney of Pro Football Focus, who also happens to be a season ticket holder. The analyst voiced his frustration on Twitter today.
Just got an email from the #49ers. My season tickets are going up from $175 a game to $199.
This was after they went from $125 to $175 in 2020 (essentially 2021 since no fans in 2020)

A nearly 14 percent price hike from this season and a 59 percent price increase (at least in Deeney's case) in just a few years to watch what has mostly been a losing product is garnering some scrutiny from the fanbase on social media.
Bad business.

Total rip off paying top dollar for a lousy product

2-4 doesn't pay for itself apparently.

It's a good thing they're such a GREAT team! 😬

Rofl. Gotta pay for this bad contracts some how.

FWIW, I've been a fan of this team since their days at Kezar Stadium, and it's starting to feel pointless. Finding it harder and harder to muster up enough enthusiasm to withstand the constant disappointments for the last ~30 years.

The 49ers have lost four consecutive games. They will try to end the losing streak this weekend at Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears. This week, head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if he is deserving of the scrutiny he has received as a response to the team underachieving this season.
"Yeah, you lose four games in a row, I'm the head coach of this team, I expect it, and I deserve it," Shanahan responded.
San Francisco has made the playoffs just once since the 2013 season.
