Congratulations to San Francisco 49ers punter Mitch Wishnowsky. He has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Wishnowsky punted five times for 226 yards in the 49ers' 17-11 Week 2 victory over Philadelphia Eagles. That's an average of 45.2 yards per punt. Three of those punts landed inside the 20-yard line, and one dropped inside the 5.
San Francisco made Wishnowsky (6-2, 220) a fourth-round selection out of Utah in 2019. The 29-year-old has 5,728 net yards on 125 punts (45.8 average) with 53 inside the 20-yard line in 34 game appearances through his three NFL seasons.
