The Tampa Bay Vipers acquired Patrick (6-2, 234) in the 2020 XFL Draft after the running back went undrafted in 2019. He signed with the Bengals in 2020 after the XFL ceased play, spending all of last season on the team's practice squad.
Patrick, 24, recorded 156 rushing yards and a touchdown on 31 rushing attempts in the preseason. Cincinnati waived him on August 31 and then re-signed him to its practice squad.
Patrick spent four seasons at Florida State, where he rushed for 1,790 career yards and 17 touchdowns on 366 carries. The running back added 47 receptions for 356 yards and a receiving touchdown during his collegiate career.
