49ers-Eagles Injury Report: Javon Kinlaw, 3 other defenders don’t practice

Sep 15, 2021 at 12:40 PM--

The San Francisco 49ers are at The Greenbrier in West Virginia preparing for their Week 2 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The team continues to hold defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw out of practice, hoping the rest helps heal his continuing knee issues.

"I think we'll be easy with him today," head coach Kyle Shanahan said. "Hopefully, if it continues to go well today, he'll get out there more tomorrow."

Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley continues to miss practice. However, Shanahan doesn't believe his knee injury is a long-term concern, and his availability against the Eagles remains a possibility.

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw and defensive lineman Arik Armstead were the others who didn't practice. Armstead's addition to the injury list is new, but Shanahan didn't sound too concerned about the defensive lineman missing Sunday's game.

Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Eagles, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

'It's a big concern this year': 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan discusses Javon Kinlaw's injury, development setback

By David Bonilla
Oct 20

Some fans are a bit too quick to write off defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, feeling that he is yet another first-round misstep by the San Francisco 49ers. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan still believes in him and feels the defender's injury setbacks can still be overcome. Kinlaw entered the draft as a raw but physically gifted prospect that could develop into a force along the defensive line. That development has been stalled as the 49ers do what they can to manage the second-year player's injury. Kinlaw sustained a knee injury on December 20, 2020, against the Dallas Cowboys, forcing him to miss the season's final two games. He underwent a procedure after the 2020 season and then had what was described as a minor procedure to reduce swelling in the knee later in

The San Francisco 49ers are getting healthier. Kind of. There are still several missing pieces, like All-Pro tight end George Kittle. But some other pieces are scheduled to return soon. This week, the 49ers opened the practice window for running back JaMycal Hasty, who could be activated off injured reserve in time for this weekend's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Cornerback K'Waun Williams is practicing after missing the last two games due to a calf injury. "It's nice to get Hasty back this week," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on KNBR's Tolbert, Krueger & Brooks show. "He helped us out a lot in those first two games with doing some third-down routes and things like that, and running the ball. "So, getting Hasty back should help

49ers-Cardinals Injury Report: Jimmy Garoppolo ruled out for Sunday; George Kittle doubtful

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 5 contest against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo did not practice this week and has been ruled "out" for Sunday, which means fans will see rookie Trey Lance in his first career NFL start. Garoppolo suffered a calf injury during Week 4's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The hope was that he would take part in today's practice and test his right leg. That didn't happen. Tight end George Kittle also did not practice this week and is listed as "doubtful." He is also dealing with a calf injury. It's the same injury that kept him out of practice for most of last week. However, Kittle was able to play this past weekend. We'll have to wait to see if
