The San Francisco 49ers will hold three full practices this week as the team prepares for its Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions. The Niners also held a practice on Monday, but Wednesday kicks off the official prep work for the regular-season opener.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan, defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans, offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, special teams coordinator Richard Hightower, and various players are scheduled to speak with the media. The 49ers will make the press conferences available at 49ers.com, on the team's official mobile app, and YouTube page.
Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is scheduled to speak with reporters on Wednesday, indicating that he, not rookie Trey Lance, will be the Week 1 starter. Not that there has been much doubt about that up to this point.
