"We got San Francisco where we want them," Josh Norman's agent, Ryan Williams, told the veteran cornerback.
Norman had just stepped away from an interview to take the call and learn of his NFL fate. With other suitors interested, the free agent waited to find the perfect landing spot following a one-season stint in Buffalo.
"Like you said, they have a good defense," Williams continued. "They have a team that can compete, potentially win right now. So, you make the final call, man. What do you think?"
Norman agreed, and the deal moved forward.
"Alright, man. You're a Forty-Niner," his agent responded.
Jay Glazer of FOX Sports was the first to report the news of the signing, doing so on Sunday afternoon. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that the Norman could earn up to $2.5 million on his one-year deal, and the cornerback had interest from other teams as well.
"Let's go get 'em, 49ers," Norman said at the end of the video.
Today, San Francisco will likely announce a corresponding roster move to fit Norman on the 53-player roster. The team will hold a practice at 10:40 a.m. in Santa Clara.
You can watch the video of the Norman interview below. The call from his agent begins just after the four-minute mark.
