NFL teams needed to trim their rosters down to 80 players each by today at 1 p.m. PT. The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have accomplished that with the following roster moves.

Placed on injured reserve:

  • LB Mychal Kendricks

Waived/released:

  • DL Shilique Calhoun
  • WR River Cracraft
  • OL Corbin Kaufusi
  • CB B.W. Webb

"Mychal Kendricks has turf toe sprain," head coach Kyle Shanahan said this week before adding that the linebacker will "be out for a while."

One more roster cut-down remains. NFL teams must get down to 53 players by Tuesday, August 31. After that, NFL teams will begin preparing for Week 1 of the regular season.

The 49ers open the season with a road game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, September 12.
