The San Francisco 49ers are signing former Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks linebacker Mychal Kendricks, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The #49ers are making a key addition, as former #Seahawks LB Mychal Kendricks is signing a deal with SF, source said. Kendricks visited the Niners this week and now is set to join a former rival.
The news broke late in the fourth quarter of the preseason game between the 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Kendricks visited with the team this week.
The Eagles made Kendricks (5-11, 240) a second-round selection out of California in 2012. His last full season came in 2019 when he recorded 71 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, an interception, four passes defensed, and three sacks through 14 games with Seattle before suffering a torn ACL in Week 17.
Kendricks appeared in just one game last season with the Washington Football Team after being signed off of the Seahawks' practice squad.
Kendricks, 30, has recorded 548 tackles, 52 tackles for a loss, 19 sacks, 31 passes defensed, four interceptions, and seven forced fumbles through his nine NFL seasons.
