Kendrick Bourne says Patriots ‘work harder’ in training camp than 49ers

Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, now with the New England Patriots, had a telling admission today while speaking with reporters. It sounds like the fifth-year player feels his new team works harder than his old one.

"I've only been at one other training camp. This is definitely harder," Bourne told reporters, per Tzvi Machlin of The Spun. "We work harder here, and I'm glad to be here."

Of course, fans will probably file this under the category of "What was he supposed to say?" New England is well-known for putting its players through tough practices, though.

Bourne spent his first four NFL seasons with San Francisco after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2017. The 49ers had hoped to keep him on the roster, but the Patriots offered him a three-year, $15 million contract to move across the country. San Francisco couldn't match that for a player who, at best, would serve as its third receiver on the depth chart.

By comparison, Mohamed Sanu, a candidate for that third receiver spot, rejoined the team via a one-year, $1.14 million deal.
