Samson Ebukam’s workout leaves 49ers teammates impressed

Jun 29, 2021 at 9:57 AM--

Samson Ebukam definitely doesn't skip leg day, as you're about to see.

Ebukam, who figures to fill a pass rushing role for the 49ers this season, posted a demonstration of how much he can squat to Instagram on Monday. It's the latest in a number of workout videos Ebukam has shared on Instagram since signing with the 49ers in March after spending the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Rams.

A number of players were impressed with Ebukam's latest video, including teammates George Kittle, Trey Lance, Darrion Daniels, and Jeff Wilson, as well as Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin and Rams linebacker Ogbo Okoronkwo. Each of them left brief comments on the video, with Kittle saying, "Sheeeeeeesh." Check it out below.

The 49ers signed Ebukam to a two-year deal worth $12 million and appear set to let him loose on opposing quarterbacks. Ebukam had 14 sacks in four seasons with the Rams but may be in more of an attack mode with the 49ers.

"The number one thing is, with the Rams, I was kind of reading and things like that," Ebukam said earlier this month. "But over here, it's just attack, don't read. So I just have to flip a 180 real quick and just get on that. Attack, and the people behind me will clean it up."

49ers-Broncos: Jimmy Garoppolo still looking to get in game shape, get on same page with offensive teammates

Last week, following a 27-7 win over the Seattle Seahawks, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo said that being under center for the 49ers offense after missing the offseason and preseason was "like riding a bike." On Sunday, during a mistake-filled 11-10 loss to the Denver Broncos that saw the offense commit three turnovers and a safety while converting just one of ten third downs, that bike at times looked like it had two flat tires. In his first start since stepping back into the quarterback spot after a season-ending injury to Trey Lance, Garoppolo finished 18-of-29 with 211 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also stepped out of the end

Glazer: 49ers still have faith in Trey Lance, QB surprised teammates last week

Shortly after undergoing surgery to repair the damage caused by his broken ankle in Week 2, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance called his head coach, Kyle Shanahan. Eager to rejoin his squad, he wanted to know if he could travel to Denver for the team's game against the Broncos. Obviously, that was out of the question with the quarterback only days removed from the procedure. The swelling has to go down before traveling becomes an option. Lance was persistent, though. He couldn't travel with his teammates but was able to join them for that Friday's team meetings in Santa Clara. It was just four days after his surgery, and was a pleasant surprise for everyone. "Everybody came up, gave him hugs," FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer shared during a

49ers LB Fred Warner names 2 teammates who consistently amaze him

On Sunday, San Francisco 49ers star linebacker Fred Warner will sit back and enjoy some football on television, just as many fans across the country do. He doesn't play in his Week 4 contest until the next night, and he rarely gets to take in so much of the gridiron action on the weekend. Instead, he's usually preparing for his own game. Unlike most fans, though, Warner will be taking a more analytical approach to his football watching, trying to find something from his NFL peers that he might be able to apply to his own play and use against the Los Angeles Rams. Even when Warner doesn't get to watch the games around the league, he often witnesses some amazing play. Several of his teammates are playmakers, after all. On Wednesday, Warner joined 95.7 The Game and

Today marked another day of media rounds for the San Francisco 49ers, with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans, and run game coordinator/offensive line coach Chris Foerster being among those to speak to reporters in Santa Clara. Among the topics discussed in those media sessions were the improvement of safety Talanoa Hufanga, the impact of new quarterbacks coach Brian Griese, and where Jimmy Garoppolo gets his vocal power from. There were also some quotes of note to come from outside 49ers facilities, including some thoughts from former 49ers defensive tackle D.J. Jones as he gets set to face his former team when the 49ers face the Broncos in Denver on Sunday night. Here's a rundown of those topics and more in this version of 49ers
