The San Francisco 49ers opened three practices to the media during organized team activities (OTAs). The first was today, and Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee provided a list of players who did not participate in the session. Many are players who are rehabbing from injuries suffered last season and weren't expected to participate, like defensive ends Nick Bosa (ACL) and Dee Ford (neck, back), and wide receiver Jalen Hurd (ACL).

The 49ers expect Bosa to be ready for the start of the 2021 season. Ford's situation seems to be more up in the air.
"Dee's doing well," general manager John Lynch said in March. "With that type of injury, you don't want to get too high or too low, and I think he's really in a good place. He's working. He's been here every day ... He's working extremely hard. It's encouraging to look out my window and see things progress. I think we'll leave it at that."
Hurd suffered his injury during training camp last year and has yet to step onto the field for a regular-season NFL game. David Lombardi of The Athletic notes that Hurd was seen working on the side during practice, so he wasn't absent.

"Jalen's rehab is going well," Lynch shared in May. "We're eager to get him back here because he's been rehabbing away. But we check in regularly, and he's doing a nice job with his rehab, so we're excited about that.
"I think Jalen's always been a hard worker, and has just had some tough luck with that stuff. He'll continue to work hard, and we think he'll be ready to go."
Safeties Jaquiski Tartt and Marcell Harris, along with new linebacker Nate Gerry, were also present for today's practice but working on the side.

Reporters will get two more looks at practices before the team closes out OTAs. The next one will be on Wednesday, June 2, and the last will be on Tuesday, June 8.
