Three premier NFL tight ends, George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, and recently-retired Greg Olsen, have partnered to launch an annual summit that will gather other tight ends from around the league to share knowledge. The first gathering for "Tight End University" will take place this summer in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to TEU's official Twitter account, the 12 players listed below have committed to attending the inaugural meeting. Included in the group is high-profile rookie Kyle Pitts of the Atlanta Falcons, who was drafted No. 4 overall, one spot after the 49ers selected quarterback Trey Lance.

  • Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
  • Eric Ebron, Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles
  • Noah Fant, Denver Broncos
  • Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins
  • T.J. Hockenson, Detroit Lions
  • Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears
  • David Njoku, Cleveland Browns
  • Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
  • Jonnu Smith, New England Patriots
  • Robert Tonyan, Green Bay Packers
  • Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders

Kittle loves watching other tight ends play, and cheers all of them, so long as they are not that week's opponent. Maybe even then, so long as the opposing team doesn't win. Kittle helped launch National Tight End Day, which received some serious recognition from the NFL last season.

"Tight ends is kind of like a brotherhood, and it's a position that I want to see everyone succeed all the time," Kittle explained this past October. "I want to see tight ends scoring touchdowns. I want to see them blocking guys, pancaking guys, breaking tackles, pass [protection]. I like seeing it all. A day that you can recognize all the great tight ends across the league is a great day, and I'm looking forward to our second annual National Tight End Day."
