The San Francisco 49ers are practically running Trey Lance's second pro day, per a report on Sunday night from ESPN's Dan Graziano. Private quarterback coach John Beck, who remains close with Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan, has been working with the young quarterback for weeks at the request of San Francisco.
Beck worked with Shanahan for two seasons (2010-2011) when Beck was a quarterback with the Washington Football Team and Shanahan was the offensive coordinator there. That gives him great insight into what the Niners coach is looking for in a quarterback.
"I know how he's going to coach quarterbacks," Beck recently told The Athletic. "I know what he's looking for. So I think it's an easy extension of Kyle in terms of the eyes I have for quarterbacks."
Lance's second workout will take place today in Fargo, and the 49ers are sending Shanahan, general manager John Lynch, and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello. The team sent Beck a list of things it wants to see out of the former North Dakota State quarterback, which means much of the throwing session has been tailored by Shanahan.
According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Denver Broncos will also be in attendance.
The Falcons, Patriots, Broncos and 49ers will be in attendance at Trey Lance's second pro day today, per our @AlbertBreer. The Bears, Panthers and Washington are among the teams that won't: https://t.co/yCZmR2Z1nI

Lance held his first pro day on March 12. The 49ers were not in attendance. Of course, that was before the team traded four draft picks, including three first-rounders, to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for the No. 3 overall pick.
The pro day workout begins at 12:30 p.m. local time in Fargo, North Dakota, which is 10:30 p.m. Pacific. It will be closed to the media, meaning it also won't be televised.
Following his second pro day last week, Justin Fields of Ohio State saw a leap to the top spot as the betting favorite to land with the 49ers. We'll see if there is a similar move for Lance following today's workout.
