49ers’ Nick Bosa shares video showing rehab progress

Apr 8, 2021 at 12:40 PM--

Nick Bosa was one of several ("several" may be an understatement) San Francisco 49ers who suffered injuries last season. The young pass rusher's injury was season-ending. He suffered a torn ACL in Week 2.

Bosa appears to be recovering nicely. On Thursday, he posted a new workout video on social media, which was captured and shared by our friends over at @OurSF49ers_. The video shows Bosa running with a weight sled tied to his waist, and he doesn't appear to be hampered by his left knee injury.

A healthy Bosa's return will be a significant boost for the 49ers' pass rush. Bosa and veteran Dee Ford appeared in just one full game each last season. Ford was sidelined due to back and neck injuries.

Bosa recorded 47 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss, 25 quarterback hits, nine sacks, an interception, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble during his impressive NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year campaign in 2019.

Update: Bosa later shared the following additional video via Instagram, via @Thesfniners_

49ers' Nick Bosa excited by Trey Lance's progress, believes Brandon Aiyuk will 'come alive'

By David Bonilla

Trey Lance entered the NFL without a whole lot of collegiate experience under his belt. He started only one full season for the North Dakota State Bison. He joined the San Francisco 49ers with a lot to learn, and the plan has always been to start Jimmy Garoppolo during the regular season, allowing Lance the time needed to absorb the offense. The most anyone expected from Lance was to see the quarterback sprinkled into the offensive game plan from week to week. However, an injury to Garoppolo thrust the rookie into the starting lineup during Week 5. Nick Bosa joined 95.7 The Game on Wednesday and was asked about the team's young quarterback. How much growth has the pass rusher seen from Lance since the 21-year-old first joined the squad? "He's come a

49ers' Nick Bosa believes he and Arik Armstead are dominant in this category

Most analysts already view Nick Bosa as one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. He racked up nine regular-season sacks as a rookie and added four more in the playoffs. This year, he leads the San Francisco 49ers with five sacks. While the accolades have come due to Bosa's ability to frustrate opposing quarterbacks, the talented defensive end believes he and a teammate might actually be vastly underrated when it comes to another category. Bosa has proven himself to be a great overall player, remaining in the game during run plays. He ranks fifth against the run among edge rushers with over 55 snaps, per Pro Football Focus' grading system. "I love the run game because it just gets me going in the game," Bosa said after today's practice. "And if the

49ers great Jerry Rice shares why QB transitions can be challenging for players

By David Bonilla

NFL legend Jerry Rice has witnessed a San Francisco 49ers quarterback transition before — but on a much grander scale. For him, it was watching one future Hall of Fame quarterback succeed another future Hall of Fame quarterback. There is yet another transition taking place in Santa Clara, this time from Jimmy Garoppolo, a quarterback who helped guide the 49ers to a Super Bowl just two seasons ago, to rookie Trey Lance. The topic has been discussed at length. When should it happen? How should it happen? Most of the quarterback discussion is done with an outside perspective. This week, Rice joined the 49ers Talk podcast to share the behind-the-scenes perspective and what a quarterback transition is like for players. "It's kind of hard to

Golden Nugget Award: This week's winner should excite the 49ers fanbase

By Sasha D. Robinson

Week 5's Golden Nugget Award winner goes to defensive tack D.J. Jones. The other nominees for this week's award are quarterback Trey Lance for his first NFL start, defensive end Nick Bosa, linebacker Fred Warner for his dominance on defense, and punter Mitch Wishnowsky for his 48.5 punt average in the loss against the Arizona Cardinals, dropping the San Francisco 49ers to 2-3. The former Ole Miss Rebel did not have a dominant performance in the game but his sack on Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray in the first quarter had Twitter erupted. OhMyGoodness DJ
