Alabama quarterback Mac Jones threw in front of NFL personnel today in Tuscaloosa. It was his second workout. However, this time, the attendees included San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch.
Jones got to speak with Shanahan and Lynch after the workout. San Francisco is a potential destination for the Crimson Tide quarterback. Last week, the 49ers traded up from their No. 12 spot to No. 3 overall.
"I think in watching them, obviously, throughout the years, Coach Shanahan, and what he does on offense is awesome," Jones told NFL Network after the workout. "He's like a mastermind. We have similar concepts here. I know he loves wide zones and stuff like that, but just to see him out here was awesome."

Jones was a fan of Shanahan's attire, too, and feels his collegiate coach could upgrade from his trademark straw hat.
"I liked [Shanahan's] hat," Jones said. "He's always got his prototypical Shanahan hat, and I was like, 'I like your hat.' I told him to get Coach (Nick) Saban one, so hopefully, maybe that will happen.
"But it was all good. I was really happy that they came. The trade is a trade, and hopefully, I impressed them. But I would love to get a chance to play, obviously, anywhere in the NFL, but (also) at a great franchise like that."
Jones (6-3, 214) helped guide the Crimson Tide to a National Championship this past collegiate season. The quarterback completed 77.4 percent of his passes for 4,500 yards with 41 touchdowns and four interceptions through 13 games, per Sports Reference.
