49ers signing OLB Samson Ebukam to a 2-year, $12 million deal

The San Francisco 49ers are signing Los Angeles Rams outside linebacker Samson Ebukam to a two-year deal worth up to $12 million, per Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The deal could inflate to $13.5 million with incentives.


Los Angeles made Ebukam a fourth-round selection out of Eastern Washington in 2017. He registered 31 tackles, three tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, seven quarterback hits, a pass defensed, and a forced fumble through 16 games and 14 starts with the Rams in 2020, per Pro Football Reference.

Ebukam, 25, has recorded 150 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, six passes defensed, an interception, a touchdown, and six forced fumbles through his four NFL seasons.

The San Francisco 49ers announced that the team has officially exercised the fifth-year option on offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey, keeping the offensive lineman with the team through the 2022 season. The move was expected. General manager John Lynch informed reporters before the draft that the team planned to pick up the option, which will guarantee McGlinchey $10.88 million in 2022. The 49ers drafted McGlinchey out of Notre Dame with the No. 9 overall pick in 2018. The 26-year-old has appeared in 44 games — all starts — through his three NFL seasons.
