The San Francisco 49ers are among numerous teams that have been in contact with former Florida kicker Evan McPherson, per Justin Melo of The Draft Network. The other teams include the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, and several others.
Evan McPherson may be the best K in this draft. Led the SEC (85% career FG%).
McPherson (5-11, 185) connected on 17 of his 22 field-goal attempts through 11 games as a junior this past season. He made all 52 of his extra-point attempts. As Melo stated, McPherson made 85 percent of his field-goal attempts in his three seasons with the Gators and is considered the best kicker in the draft.
San Francisco has 38-year-old veteran Robbie Gould as its kicker. He signed a two-year, $7.25 million extension with the 49ers in December, keeping him under contract with the team through the 2022 season.
