Justin Melo of The Draft Network reports that the San Francisco 49ers are among the teams scheduled to meet virtually with Zach Wilson's favorite target from this past season — BYU wide receiver Dax Milne. The other teams include the Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Washington Football Team, among others.
Said Melo: "One guy I want to talk about is BYU's Dax Milne. While watching Zach Wilson, it was Milne who came down with a lot of those big plays."
Milne was the Cougars' leading receiver as a junior, hauling in 70 passes for 1,188 yards and eight touchdowns from Wilson, per Sports Reference. It was a breakout campaign for the 6-foot-1, 190-pound wideout.
"Dax Milne shows good proactive athleticism as a route-runner and does a good job at the top of the route," wrote Drae Harris of The Draft Network. "He typically defeats press with foot quickness, stacks the DB, and gets back on his route stem. He will track the football in the air and shows good extension and strong hands at the catch point. He is a hyper-competitive player who has made a lot of big plays in his career."
Milne recorded 101 receptions for 1,542 yards with 11 touchdowns in three seasons at BYU.
"Milne is more than a product of BYU's offense who is catching balls from an elite quarterback," wrote Jeff Hanson of 24/7 Sports. "He consistently beats highly rated recruits and uber-athletic defensive backs off the line of scrimmage. He consistently beats strong defenders for deep balls and is able to pull down catches that many receivers can't."
