49ers re-sign WR River Cracraft to one-year deal

Feb 12, 2021 at 1:27 PM--

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver River Cracraft posted a photo on Instagram of himself signing an extension with the team, along with the caption, "Staying home!"

Update: The 49ers officially announced the signing on Monday, February 22 — 10 days after it was first reported.

The Denver Broncos signed Cracraft as an undrafted free agent out of Washington State in 2017. Initially signed on August 27, 2020, he registered six receptions for 41 yards through nine games with the 49ers this past season.

Cracraft, 26, has caught seven passes for 85 yards with no touchdowns through his three NFL seasons. He also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles between his time with Denver and San Francisco.

The 49ers entered the offseason with nearly 40 players scheduled to become free agents. They have brought back several since the end of the season, including quarterback Josh Rosen, long snapper Taybor Pepper, and running backs Jeff Wilson Jr. and Austin Walter.

49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo on why no one should panic over Brandon Aiyuk's reduced production

By David Bonilla

Jimmy Garoppolo doesn't sound the least bit worried about Brandon Aiyuk. Early in training camp, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback looked to have a good rapport with his top receivers, Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. Expectations surrounding the two were through the roof. Samuel leads the league in receiving with 282 yards and a touchdown on just 15 receptions. That's an 18.8 yard-per-catch average. While the third-year receiver is off to a hot start, Aiyuk has just one reception for six yards. It's not the performance fans expected after watching Aiyuk's impressive rookie campaign. That, of course, has led to much speculation surrounding what is holding back Aiyuk. The 49ers have repeatedly addressed the situation. However, that hasn't stopped the rampant

Age is nothing but a number for 33-year-old CB Josh Norman, who is quickly fitting in with the 49ers

By Kirk Larrabee

Josh Norman may be at an age that is often associated with decline when it comes to NFL cornerbacks, but he isn't about to let it stand in the way of doing what the 49ers expect from him in the weeks ahead. In 2015, Norman was voted as a first-team All-Pro with the Carolina Panthers and was regarded as one of the elite cornerbacks in the league. But now, at age 33, Norman is one of the older active players at his position and is the oldest defensive player on the 49ers' roster (38-year-old kicker Robbie Gould and 35-year-old center Alex Mack are the only 49ers players older than Norman). If you're surprised to read that little factoid, so was Norman when it was presented to him during his post-practice media session on Thursday. "That's crazy,"

Steve Young says 49ers' late game fade in Detroit may be "a sign of immaturity"

By Marc Adams
Sep 16

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, and current ESPN analyst, Steve Young spoke on KNBR Radio on Wednesday, as he does each week during the NFL season. Among the other things he discussed on the Tolbert, Krueger and Brooks Show, which included labeling the 49ers quarterback situation as "fraught with terror," considering how it plays out, was how the 49ers finished the game against the Detroit Lions last Sunday. Specifically, how they went from having such a huge lead to almost losing that lead. Much has been discussed on this topic already, and debates have been held around the question of whether coach
