According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the San Francisco 49ers are among the many teams in attendance for Trevor Lawrence's pro day today. The former Clemson quarterback is expected to become the No. 1 overall pick when the 2021 NFL Draft kicks off on April 29. The Jacksonville Jaguars own the top selection, while the 49ers don't select until the No. 12 spot.

The Jaguars are represented at the pro day by head coach Urban Meyer and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated adds that there are 31 team representatives from 17 different teams in attendance to watch Lawrence, which matches up with Rapoport's report.

The pro day workout begins at 7:00 am PT (10:00 am ET) at Clemson's Poe Indoor Facility and will be covered on NFL Network, ESPN2, and the ACC Network.

The 49ers are not expected to be in play for Lawrence but could be doing their due diligence. The team currently has Jimmy Garoppolo slated to be the starter in 2021 but has reportedly inquired about other quarterbacks this offseason, including Matthew Stafford, who was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, and Carson Wentz. It is conceivable that San Francisco adds a quarterback via the draft and allows him to learn behind Garoppolo.

There is no central NFL Scouting Combine this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and today's pro day could be the lone opportunity for NFL teams to get a good look at Lawrence before the draft. He is scheduled to have surgery on his non-throwing shoulder to repair an injured labrum and will spend the time before the draft recovering.

Lawrence completed 69.2 percent of his passes for 3,153 yards with 24 touchdowns and five interceptions through 10 games as a junior in 2020. He has passed for 10,098 yards with 90 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in three seasons with the Tigers.

Lawrence was named the 2020 ACC Offensive Player of the Year and the 2020 ACC Player of the Year.

Wide receiver Cornell Powell is also working out with Lawrence during the pro day session. He caught 53 passes for 882 yards and seven touchdowns through 12 games with Clemson in 2020. Lawrence will also throw to ex-Jets receiver Charone Peake and ex-49ers receiver Chris Finke, per Breer.
