The NFL season comes to an end on Sunday with Super Bowl LV, featuring Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers going up against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

When and where is Super Bowl LV?
The game kicks off on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. PT (6:30 p.m. local ET) from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, marking the first time a Super Bowl participant has played in its home stadium. San Francisco 49ers fans will remember that Super Bowl XIX between the Niners and Miami Dolphins was played in the Bay Area. However, that game was played at Stanford Stadium, which sat about 30 miles south of the 49ers' former home field — Candlestick Park.

Television
You can watch the game on CBS. Jim Nantz will be the play-by-play announcer, and Tony Romo will be the game analyst. Tracy Wolfson, Evan Washburn, and Jay Feely will be the sideline reporters. Gene Steratore, a former NFL referee, will be the rules analyst.

Live stream
You can stream the game via CBSSports.com, the CBS Sports app, and CBS All Access.

Odds
As of this post, the Chiefs are a three-point favorite over the Buccaneers. The game has an O/U of 56.5.

Tampa Bay in 2020
The Buccaneers finished the regular season with an 11-5 record, which was good enough for second place in the NFC South and a Wild-card playoff berth. That meant winning three playoff road games to earn a trip to Super Bowl LV. This is Brady's first season with Tampa Bay and his record 10th Super Bowl appearance. The Buccaneers have won one championship in team history, beating the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII.

Kansas City in 2020
The Chiefs owned the best record in the NFL, finishing the regular season at 14-2. This is their second consecutive Super Bowl appearance after beating the 49ers in the big game a year ago. Before that, Kansas City's last championship came during Super Bowl IV.

Halftime and the national anthem
The Weeknd will perform the Super Bowl LV halftime show. Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan will sing the National Anthem before kickoff, and H.E.R. will sing "America the Beautiful."

Commercials
A 30-second spot during Super Bowl LV costs about $5.5 million.

Attendance
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL will only allow 14,500 fans (30% capacity) to attend. 7,500 vaccinated healthcare workers will receive free admission to the game.

Future Super Bowls
In 2022, the Super Bowl will be held in Los Angeles, California. It will take place in Glendale, Arizona in 2023, and then New Orleans, Louisiana in 2024.

Donte Whitner believes 49ers were dealt a bad hand during Super Bowl

By David Bonilla
Apr 9

One former San Francisco 49ers player is making his opinion of Super Bowl 58 very clear. He believes his former team was dealt a bad hand in the matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas two months ago. Former 49ers safety Donte Whitner, appearing this week on the "Up & Adam" show with Kay Adams, was vocal regarding the matchup and how certain circumstances seemed to favor the Chiefs. "And when we think about the Super Bowl as well, I think that the 49ers played against the refs as well, guys," Whitner told Adams. "I think that when we look at that film and you see bear hugs on those defensive ends, right? And you really see it in blatant moments in the game." Adams couldn't help but laugh at Whitner's comments, and the former player

Former NFL exec on 49ers' Brock Purdy: "I think he needs to find more fire"

By David Bonilla
Apr 14

Brock Purdy isn't one to seek the spotlight. He exudes politeness, respect, and an even-keeled demeanor when speaking to reporters during interviews. Nothing we've seen from the San Francisco 49ers quarterback's time off the field would indicate that it's a facade. However, on the field, Purdy can show some fire, particularly after a big play or in an effort to ensure his teammates are on the same page as him. While praising the third-year quarterback, one unnamed former NFL executive expressed a desire to see more of that fire from Purdy in the future, believing it is crucial to his development. "Brock Purdy is one of the most talented arms that I've seen," the former executive recently

PFF mock draft has 49ers adding cornerback with 'unique fluidity and size'

By David Bonilla
Apr 10

Analyst Steve Palazzolo unveiled a first-round mock draft for Pro Football Focus, attempting to forecast the selections for each NFL team within the top 32 picks. While the San Francisco 49ers concentrated on strengthening the defensive line in free agency, Palazzolo envisions the team continuing to fortify that side of the ball. In his mock draft, Palazzolo predicts that the 49ers will select former Iowa State cornerback T.J. Tampa with the No. 31 overall pick. "Tampa's unique fluidity and size for a cornerback make him worthy of a top-75 pick," reads the analysis from Pro Football Focus' big board. "If he can clean up his footwork, he can

Deebo Samuel and Brock Purdy are why the 49ers can afford to pay Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla
Apr 10

It's evident that the San Francisco 49ers engaged in long-term financial planning. Much discussion has centered around the feasibility of the team committing significant financial resources to two wide receivers, Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. Some skeptics question the wisdom of such heavy investment in a single position, especially considering that the 49ers handed Samuel a substantial three-year extension merely two years ago. Adding complexity to this debate is the impending contract extension for quarterback Brock Purdy, positioning him to become the highest-paid player on the team. He will likely even become one of the NFL's highest-paid players. Where he ranks in average salary will depend upon whether he can replicate the stellar performance of his Pro Bowl 2023
