While defensive coordinator Robert Saleh is likely to garner much of the media attention as other NFL teams look to fill head-coaching vacancies, the San Francisco 49ers could suffer other losses. Personnel from the team's front office could be plucked away this offseason.
NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that the Carolina Panthers were expected to request an interview with 49ers VP of player personnel, Adam Peters, for the team's general manager job. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reports that the request is in, and the interview is scheduled for Wednesday.
Breer also notes that the 49ers' other VP of player personnel, Martin Mayhew, is expected to interview with Washington for that team's general manager job. Of course, that search won't begin until the team's season is complete. Washington is scheduled to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Wild-card Weekend.
The Panthers have requested to interview 49ers VP of player personnel Adam Peters for their GM job, as @RapSheet said. I'm told that interview is slated for Wednesday.
The Niners also expect Washington to request a GM interview with Martin Mayhew, when WFT's search starts.
