49ers-Seahawks: Brandon Aiyuk, Javon Kinlaw among 7 inactives

Jan 3, 2021 at 11:57 AM--

The San Francisco 49ers have released the list of inactive players for their Week 17 matchup at home against the Seattle Seahawks. These players will not suit up for Sunday's game.

Inactives:

  • WR Brandon Aiyuk
  • DT Kevin Givens
  • OLB Dre Greenlaw
  • DT Javon Kinlaw
  • WR Deebo Samuel
  • CB Richard Sherman
  • CB K'Waun Williams

Aiyuk (ankle), Givens (not injury related), Greenlaw (calf), Kinlaw (knee), Samuel (hamstring), Sherman (calf), and Williams (shin) were already ruled out on Friday.

Three 49ers players — safety Tarvarius Moore (ankle), cornerback Emmanuel Moseley (hamstring), and linebacker Mark Nzeocha (illness) — were listed as "questionable" for Week 17. All three are active.

The 49ers made several roster moves on Saturday. They activated offensive lineman Tom Compton off of injured reserve after opening his practice window last week. The team also activated defensive lineman Josiah Coatney, wide receiver Jordan Matthews, kicker Tristan Vizcaino, and offensive lineman Isaiah Williams from the practice squad.

Vizcaino will replace veteran kicker Robbie Gould, who landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk's mother is a San Francisco 49ers fan. She was a fan even before her favorite team drafted her son. "My mom has been a huge 49ers fan her whole life," Aiyuk told reporters shortly after being drafted, "so that kind of bled on me a little bit when I was younger." Aiyuk was asked if that fandom stuck with him throughout his childhood. "So, I wouldn't say a fan throughout," he responded. "I just kind of just move with players. But, definitely, when I was younger, I was rolling with the 49ers because of my mom." Aiyuk and his girlfriend, Rochelle, had a son, Braylon, in September. Now that Aiyuk is a father,

Moore also plans to meet with the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers in March. #Purdue WR Rondale Moore has

Why Bleacher Report lists 49ers among teams destined to disappoint in 2021

Following an injury-plagued 2020 campaign, many fans are hopeful things are looking up for the San Francisco 49ers. After all, the team was in the Super Bowl just over a year ago. The Niners limped through 2020 without names like Jimmy Garoppolo, Nick Bosa, George Kittle, and many others for much of the season. San Francisco suffered an absurd amount of injuries, which clearly contributed to its 6-10 record. The 2021 season will be better, right? Chris Roling of Bleacher Report and The Bengals Wire doesn't believe so. He lists the 49ers among his five NFL teams that are destined to disappoint during the upcoming season. Why San
