The Chicago Bears made Hall a fourth-round draft pick out of Northern Iowa in 2016. He spent two seasons with Chicago and 2018 with the Philadelphia Eagles. Hall spent this past offseason with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being waived on July 30.
The 49ers placed starting safety Jaquiski Tartt on injured reserve last week. Two more safeties — Johnathan Cyprien and practice squad player Jared Mayden — landed on injured reserve today.
Hall has recorded 13 tackles, a quarterback hit, an interception, and three passes defensed through 23 career games over three NFL seasons (2016, 17, 18).
Update: Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the 49ers are also working out defensive backs Kentrell Brice, Blake Countess, Chris Miller, and Kai Nacua.
