The 49ers are shutting down their facilities following the positive test, which was first reported by Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area and then Schefter.
Bourne's positive test is the first by a 49ers player since linebacker Fred Warner landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on August 31. The team has not had a positive test since. Two others — wide receiver Richie James Jr. and running back Jeff Wilson Jr. — landed on the reserve/COVID-19 in July.
The 49ers are one day away from a Thursday-night matchup against the Green Bay Packers, which remains on schedule to be played, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The #Packers-#49ers game remains on as scheduled Thursday night, per source.
Bourne is in his fourth NFL season and has caught 25 passes for 352 yards and a touchdown this season. The 49ers signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington in 2017.
