49ers, Seahawks emerge as only NFC West teams to win during Week 3

Sep 27, 2020 at 5:00 PM--

The San Francisco 49ers beat the New York Giants 36-9 on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. They were one of two NFC West teams to emerge from Week 3 with a victory after knocking off the New York Giants 36-9.

The other NFC West team to win this weekend was the Seattle Seahawks, who knocked off the visiting Dallas Cowboys 38-31 in a thriller.

Until this weekend, the 49ers were the only NFC West team with a loss. The Los Angeles Rams, however, couldn't complete a comeback on the road against the Buffalo Bills, losing 35-32. The Detroit Lions traveled to Glendale, Arizona, and knocked off the Cardinals 26-23.

While the Seahawks improve to 3-0, every other NFC West team now sits at 2-1.

The 49ers' only loss of the season came during the season opener against the Cardinals. San Francisco will not face another NFC West opponent until October 18 when it hosts the Los Angeles Rams at Levi's Stadium.

Kyle Shanahan and his squad look to build upon their two-game win streak when they host the Philadelphia Eagles in Santa Clara next weekend.

San Francisco will get its first crack at beating Seattle when it travels to CenturyLink Field on November 1.

Kyle Brandt explains why the 49ers' win should worry other NFC squads

By David Bonilla

Most were ready to write off the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers, especially if Kyle Shanahan's squad suffered its second consecutive embarrassing defeat. That didn't happen, though, and the 49ers emerged victorious from Sunday night's NFC West clash against the Los Angeles Rams. The game made a statement for the Niners. The injury-plagued team isn't ready to concede the season and still deserves your respect. "If I'm a fan of an NFC frontrunner, whether it be the Seahawks or the Bucs or the Saints or whoever it may be, I want the Niners out of the equation," Brandt explained on NFL Network's Good Morning Football. "I don't want them in the mix. Kick them down. I want the Rams to win last night. "When you tuned in last night, and

George Kittle ready to make his case for 'YAC Bros' invite during 49ers-Dolphins

By David Bonilla

Deebo Samuel welcomed rookie Brandon Aiyuk into the team's "YAC Bros" club. The San Francisco 49ers receivers take pride in their ability to rack up yards after the catch. It's a skill that head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch seek in their offensive weapons. Maybe the "YAC Bros" is a bit more exclusive of a club than you might think. Apparently, All-Pro tight end George Kittle hasn't received his invite yet despite leading the team this season in total yards after the catch. Two seasons ago, he led the league in that category. "Am I a part of the YAC Bros? I didn't get a formal invitation or a t-shirt of anything," Kittle jokingly told reporters

49ers' Nick Bosa staying with brother, Joey, during ACL rehab

By David Bonilla
Oct 16, 2020

The outlook for the 2020 San Francisco 49ers changed dramatically when second-year defensive end Nick Bosa went down with a torn ACL during Week 2 against the New York Jets. That's how good Bosa is. He is a game-changer on the edge of the once-formidable Niners defensive line that has also lost Solomon Thomas for the year to a torn ACL, and veteran Dee Ford is out indefinitely with a back injury. Joey Bosa of the Los Angeles Chargers told reporters on Wednesday that his younger brother, Nick, is staying with him and his parents during his rehab. "It's nice having them around," Joey Bosa said. "They're keeping the place [tidy] for me and food constantly running. I can't
