San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa is scheduled to have surgery in Los Angeles this week to repair the torn ACL he suffered on September 20. Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that there was some additional cartilage damage in the knee, but the 49ers hope that won't hinder his rehab.

Bosa must pass a COVID-19 test before undergoing surgery. He is expected to return for next season.
Fellow defensive lineman Solomon Thomas, who suffered a torn ACL two plays after Bosa, is also slated to have surgery. The 49ers, however, want to wait until the swelling in his knee goes down before he undergoes any procedure.
San Francisco will push forward without their two defensive linemen and today will face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium, on the same field where both Bosa and Thomas were injured just a week ago.
