The San Francisco 49ers have confirmed that defensive lineman Solomon Thomas suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during Sunday's road game against the New York Jets and will miss the remainder of the season.

The news comes after the 49ers officially announced that second-year defensive end Nick Bosa will miss the remainder of the season due to the torn ACL he also suffered on Sunday.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan didn't have an update on Bosa or Thomas while speaking with reporters on Monday afternoon because the MRI truck that was scheduled to meet the team at The Greenbrier in West Virginia broke down last night. The 49ers had to send their injured players to a local hospital to undergo the needed tests and were awaiting the results.

Thomas, 25, suffered his injury during the first quarter of Sunday's game, just two plays after Bosa was carted off the field. Both were quickly ruled "out" for the remainder of the game.

The 49ers made Thomas the No. 3 overall pick in 2017. He totaled 21 tackles and two sacks last season in 16 games and three starts last season, his third in the league.

"[It occurred] about five minutes after Dre's," Shanahan told reporters. "I think it was when [S] Ji'Ayir [Brown] got the interception, he just jumped up and cheered, very similar to Dre's, and his Achilles went too." Bullocks remained on the sideline and continued coaching throughout the

The Jacksonville Jaguars were reportedly interested in trading for star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. However, the San Francisco 49ers' asking price of the No. 17 overall pick plus a player was seemingly too high for the team. Now, it appears another AFC team might be trying to pry Aiyuk away from the West Coast. Andrew Fillipponi of Pittsburgh-area radio station 93.7 The Fan reports that the Steelers are looking to work out a deal with the 49ers for the receiver. "Sources: The Steelers have looked into 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk," Fillipponi wrote on social media. "He's entering the last year of his contract. Steelers would have to execute a sign and trade.
