49ers-Jets: Watch Raheem Mostert’s 80-yard score on first offensive play of the game

Sep 20, 2020 at 10:10 AM--

Raheem Mostert had a response for those concerned about the San Francisco 49ers' missing weapons against the New York Jets. The running back scored on the first offensive play of the game, running 80 yards to the end zone.

The 49ers are without tight end George Kittle on offense and without cornerback Richard Sherman and pass rusher Dee Ford on defense.

The good news is that newly-signed veteran wide receiver Mohamed Sanu and rookie receiver Brandon Aiyuk are active. A hamstring injury forced the rookie to miss Week 1.

San Francisco (0-1) currently leads New York (0-1) 7-0 at MetLife Stadium.

It sounds like the San Francisco 49ers offense will be close to full strength when it takes on the Miami Dolphins this afternoon. Not only is quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) back in the lineup, but running back Raheem Mostert will be too, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The team's leading rusher from last season sustained an MCL sprain during Week 2 and, like Garoppolo, has missed the last two games. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who missed two practices this week due to an illness, was listed as "questionable" for today's game. He too is expected to be out there with his teammates as the 49ers seek their first home win of the

Did you know the San Francisco 49ers are the only team with two running backs who have over 100 receiving yards this season? That little tidbit comes courtesy of ESPN's Mike Clay, who this week ranked the top running back tandems in the NFL following the injury to Cleveland Browns ball carrier Nick Chubb. The 49ers' duo of Raheem Mostert and Jerick McKinnon came in sixth on Clay's list, behind the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Denver Broncos. "49ers coach Kyle Shanahan has done an incredible job converting ex-backups into highly productive and super-efficient

Kyle Shanahan: Jimmy Garoppolo, Raheem Mostert return to practice, starting QB for 49ers-Dolphins remains a secret

By David Bonilla

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is working his way back from an ankle injury. According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, he will practice with his teammates this afternoon but be limited. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that Garoppolo will play on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. "The fact that he's coming out today and getting a little more reps, it has (made me more optimistic)," Shanahan said. "I haven't seen him yet. I mean, he did a good job in walk-through, and we'll see how he goes. We're going to throw him in there today, and that will give me more of an opinion, at least." Garoppolo has missed the last two games after sustaining his injury during Week 2 against the New York Jets. Shanahan informed
