The San Francisco 49ers are uncertain whether running back Tevin Coleman will be on the football field and ready to play against the Arizona Cardinals this afternoon, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The game is expected to be played despite poor air quality in the area due to wildfires. Coleman, however, has a decision to make.
49ers still uncertain whether RB Tevin Coleman will play today against Arizona due to a combo of a pre-existing health condition and the air quality in the Bay Area, per sources. Decision belongs to Coleman and, as one source said today, "so much is fluid with this situation."

Coleman did not practice on Friday due to the air quality at the team's facility, which sits next to the site of today's game — Levi's Stadium.
"I know when it is up to 150, that's when it can affect some people with different conditions," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Friday. "So, that's something that Tevin, it'll be a personal decision when he gets there. It's not just an automatic 'no.'"
Added Shanahan: "I know he's going to want to play extremely hard and be out there. I know that it kills him not to be, but I also know Tevin will make the right decision. I know our doctors will help him with that."
Coleman rushed for 544 yards on 137 carries with six touchdowns last season, his first with San Francisco, while adding 21 receptions for 180 yards and a score through the air.
Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PT. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in the area is estimated to be at 171 as of this morning.
