49ers-Cardinals Injury Report: Deebo Samuel, Jason Verrett ruled out; Brandon Aiyuk questionable

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 contest against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The team issued its first player game-status report for the season.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel did not practice on Friday and has not practiced with the 49ers this offseason since suffering a Jones fracture in June. Samuel is listed as "out" for Sunday.

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring), center Ben Garland (ankle), and others returned to practice this week. Both have been listed as "questionable" for Sunday.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel and linebacker Fred Warner were among the players who exited Sunday's game between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings due to injuries. Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters via a conference call on Monday and provided several injury updates, including those suffered by Samuel and Warner. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel suffered a groin strain. "I expect him to miss one to two weeks," Shanahan said. Linebacker Fred Warner is dealing with a hamstring strain and will miss this weekend's game against the Seattle Seahawks. "Hopefully, he'll be back the next one," Shanahan said. The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 13 contest against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington. Linebackers Dre Greenlaw and Marcell Harris did not practice. Harris remains in the concussion protocol. Both sustained their injuries during Sunday's win over the Minnesota Vikings. Greenlaw has been ruled "out" while Harris is "questionable." Running back Trey Sermon was also absent from practice due to the ankle injury suffered on Sunday. Running back Elijah Mitchell is still in a blue no-contact jersey, per the only reporter on hand to watch Friday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Athletic. Mitchell is still recovering from surgery to repair a finger fracture.
