The San Francisco 49ers agreed to terms on a one-year contract with linebacker Joe Walker on Monday. The team made it official by announcing the move on Tuesday.

Walker is best known as a special teams contributor but did start the final 10 games of this past season for the Cardinals. He recorded a career-high 65 tackles through 16 games and 11 starts in 2019.

It turns out, the 49ers didn't have to pay much to pry the linebacker away from the Arizona Cardinals. Below is the contract breakdown of Walker's deal, courtesy of OverTheCap.com.

2020:
$825,000 base salary
$75,000 roster bonus ($4,687.50 per game)
$900,000 salary-cap hit

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy wasn't perfect on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, yet the team was talented and disciplined enough to beat its division rivals 30-23. Purdy had arguably his worst game as a starter. The second-year quarterback earned an overall Pro Football Focus grade of 65.1, his lowest regular-season mark since Week 13 of 2022. He finished the game 17-of-25 for 206 yards and a passer rating of 93.1, a new regular-season career-low as a starter. The stat line might have been better had Purdy connected on a few passes to open receivers that were overthrown. After the game, when asked about the offense's shortcomings against the Rams, Purdy

Announcing roster moves on Saturday, the San Francisco 49ers shared that they will be elevating one player from the practice squad to the active roster for Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams: cornerback Tre Swilling, who will serve as a potential special-teams replacement for Samuel Womack, who hit Injured Reserve due to an MCL sprain that will likely sideline him for six-to-eight weeks, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Should he suit up and play, Swilling, who went undrafted last season, will be making his professional debut on Sunday against the

By Kirk Larrabee

Thursday night was a fun one at Levi's Stadium, where the San Francisco 49ers cruised to a 30-12 victory over the visiting New York Giants. It was a night that saw wide receiver Deebo Samuel declare himself as officially out of "awful" mode, running back Christian McCaffrey reach milestones, wide receiver Ronnie Bell create some lasting memories, and -- of all things -- Andrew Luck making a return to an NFL field (in full Civil War costume) to take part in a game of trivia. Let's recap all that and more in this version of 49ers Notebook. Not awful anymore Back in June, Deebo Samuel caught some attention with his honest description of his 2022 performance
