Fred Warner on 49ers-Cowboys: 'It's going to be a battle'

By David Bonilla

Everyone is getting pretty excited for Sunday's playoff clash between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. Players on both teams are too young to know what this rivalry once meant to fans. However, they know that one team's season will end this weekend. Many are saying that no team—not even the NFC East champions—wants to face the 49ers right now. They could be among the playoffs' most dangerous teams. "They're very confident," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Tuesday. "They've won some big games. They've won it against some good teams. They play in a tough division over there. … They'll be a real, real mess to deal with out here Sunday." Star linebacker Fred Warner knows none of that matters regarding Sunday's game. The

Kyle Shanahan explains his unwavering trust in Jimmy Garoppolo, says 49ers are 'battle-tested'

Jimmy Garoppolo makes his mistakes. That hasn't deterred head coach Kyle Shanahan from sticking with him, though. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback delivered a gutsy performance in the regular-season finale against the Los Angeles Rams, playing through a torn ligament and chipped bone in his right thumb. The Week 18 win set up a playoff matchup against an old rival—the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers went into AT&T Stadium and emerged with a 23-17 victory, which was anything but pretty. A playoff win is a playoff win, though, and the Niners will move on to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers. Garoppolo finished the game 16-of-25 passing for a pedestrian 172 yards and a rather ugly interception. But he did so while enduring the pain of throwing. That

The Miami Dolphins will interview San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel for their vacant head coaching job on Wednesday, per TheMMQB's Albert Breer. The interview will take place virtually, given the time constraints for the 49ers. San Francisco is preparing to play the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Saturday in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. The team is coming off a Sunday win against the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round, which means one less day of preparation for the Niners. 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel will interview for the Dolphins head coaching job tomorrow
