49ers’ George Kittle, Richard Sherman earn 2019 PFWA honors

The Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA) announced its 2019 All-NFL and All-NFC teams, and two San Francisco 49ers players made the cut. They are tight end George Kittle and cornerback Richard Sherman.

Kittle made both teams and is a repeat selection for the NFC squad. Sherman earned a spot on the All-NFC team.

The honor comes after Kittle was named a first-team All-Pro and earned his second Pro Bowl selection. Sherman earned second-team All-Pro honors and, like Kittle, was selected to the Pro Bowl — his fifth.

The 49ers are preparing for the franchise's 16th appearance in the NFC Championship Game and the first since the 2013 season. They will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, January 19, with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

George Kittle hopes 49ers offense can 'take another step forward'

George Kittle recently spoke with ESPN during the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, where he joined other NFL stars for the golfing event. Of course, the conversation shifted toward football, with Laura Rutledge asking Kittle to reflect on the team's 2023 season, its Super Bowl defeat, and the motivation it provides for the upcoming season. The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech. Draft Watch: Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley visiting 49ers on Wednesday

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday. Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick.
