San Francisco 49ers fans have enjoyed seeing the team name in the classic "Saloon font" painted on the Levi's Stadium end zones this season. The Faithful will be treated to another small bonus when the team hosts the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday for the stadium's first-ever NFL playoff game — not counting Super Bowl 50.
As 49ers president Al Guido stated back in August, he reminded fans on KNBR Tuesday morning that, along with the classic text on the field, the end zones will be painted red, just as they were during the franchise's glory years at Candlestick Park.
"When you look down at that field on Saturday afternoon, I hope it brings back a lot of warm memories for you," Guido said on the Murph and Mac show.
Guido also stated that, based on the address information from ticket sales, he doesn't expect a large contingent of Vikings fans to invade Levi's Stadium for Saturday's game, so he urges The Faithful to get there early and be loud.
"We really anticipate and expect our crowd to make a big difference in this football game," Guido added.
