The San Francisco 49ers tight end is having a big day against the Atlanta Falcons. He already has 12 catches for 131 yards on 15 targets with a quarter left to play. Those 12 receptions are a single-game career-high for the tight end.
The receiving yards total also places Kittle among some elite company. His 2,777 receiving yards (so far) since being drafted are the most by a tight end during the players' first three seasons. Mike Ditka previously held the record with 2,774 receiving yards.
Update: Kittle finished the game with a career-high 13 receptions for 134 yards, which puts him at 2,780 career receiving yards.
Then there are some who believe Kittle isn't a blocker. There is endless proof of that to be incorrect. Kittle loves blocking and that was as evident as always during the game.
Kittle had a big block during running back Raheem Mostert's touchdown in the second quarter, absolutely destroying the Falcons defender who had no chance against the Pro Bowl tight end. You can see Kittle at the top of the screen where he and the Atlanta player end up at the furthest left.
