The Atlanta Falcons enter their Week 15 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers without one of their most productive receivers. Calvin Ridley, who ranks No. 2 in receiving yards among Falcons players and has more touchdowns than any teammate, will miss the remainder of the season due to an abdominal injury.
Ridley announced the news on Monday via Instagram.
The injury occurred on Sunday during the third quarter of the Falcons' 40-20 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Ridley finished the game with five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. He has racked up 63 catches for 866 yards with seven touchdowns this season. Only Julio Jones has more receptions (69) and receiving yards (1,016).
The 49ers are coming off a 48-46 road victory over the New Orleans Saints and open the week as 11-point favorites in the matchup against the Falcons.
