Defensive tackle D.J. Jones, a big part of the San Francisco 49ers' dominant defensive line, exited Sunday's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens late in the third quarter.

The 49ers announced that Jones sustained an ankle injury and is "questionable" to return.

Jones, a sixth-round draft pick out of Ole Miss in 2017, is in his third NFL season. He entered the game with 20 tackles and two sacks through nine games.

Safety Jaquiski Tartt exited the game with a rib injury earlier in the third quarter and was also labeled as "questionable" to return.

San Francisco and Baltimore are currently tied 17-17 in the fourth quarter.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters after the team's 31-13 victory over the New York Jets. Garoppolo suffered the injury in the first quarter as defensive tackle Quinnen Williams tackled him. Trainers worked on the quarterback on the sideline, taping up his foot and ankle. Garoppolo returned to the game but left for the locker room early before halftime to undergo X-rays. He completed 14 of 16 passes for 131 yards with two touchdowns, both

But he wound up missing the entire 2018 season after suffering a torn ACL during a practice session days before the season opener, then experienced a setback the following year that caused him to miss the 2019 season as well. In the meantime, McKinnon watched from the sidelines as his friend and now former

The San Francisco 49ers already lost pass rusher Nick Bosa for the season due to a torn ACL. It doesn't sound like the defense will be getting one of its other pass rushers, Dee Ford, back this week. A back injury kept him sidelined during Week 2, and he is expected to miss this weekend's game against the New York Giants, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. After further evaluation, #49ers DE Dee Ford is expected to
