The San Francisco 49ers held their first of 13 scheduled training camp practices. Below are some practice notes from various media sources. Limited: DE Nick Bosa (knee) DE Dee Ford (neck, back) WR Jalen Hurd (knee) DT Javon Kinlaw (knee) Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters after practice that the 49ers are being careful with defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, who underwent a clean-up procedure in his knee after last season and, more recently, a minor procedure to reduce swelling. He did not participate in team drills today, and the team will continue to ease him into on-field work. Nick Bosa, who missed most of last season due to a torn ACL, looks leaner. The pass

Jimmy Garoppolo is slated to be the Week 1 starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers when they travel to Detroit to play the Lions. However, some wonder how quickly rookie Trey Lance will get up to speed and if the No. 3 overall pick could show enough in training camp to create a difficult decision for head coach Kyle Shanahan. Ben Linsey of Pro Football Focus projected the starting lineups for all 32 NFL teams, and one of the biggest 49ers-related takeaways is that he has Garoppolo firmly situated as the team's starter, despite the analytics site stating in the past that it holds Lance in high regard and believes he will find NFL success. Lance is still a

The San Francisco 49ers will get a boost from the return of pass rusher Nick Bosa this season. The third-year player missed most of last season after suffering a torn ACL during Week 2. The 49ers' pass rush may get another boost in 2021 with the potential return of veteran Dee Ford. According to Fred Warner, it sounds like things are trending in that direction. The star linebacker joined KNBR this morning and was asked for an update on Ford. "Yeah, Dee, he's great," Warner responded. "He looks great. He's back. I've seen him plenty, and he's been working his tail off. I know the type of player that he is, and the fact that he's back healthy is going to give us a huge advantage, so I'm really excited about seeing him back." Ford appeared in just one
