At this time last year, we were already looking at the potential draft order and seeing how high the San Francisco 49ers could pick. This year, we are looking at playoff seeding and if the 49ers can hold onto the No. 1 spot in the NFC.
San Francisco hasn't made the postseason since the 2013 season and could end the five-year drought as early as Sunday, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN. There are a couple of scenarios where that could happen.
The 49ers could clinch a playoff spot with...
- A win over the Baltimore Ravens and a Los Angeles Rams loss or tie, or...
- A tie against the Ravens and a loss by the Rams
The Rams are playing the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13.

San Francisco has five games remaining on its schedule. The Ravens in Baltimore on Sunday, and then the Saints in New Orleans, the Atlanta Falcons and Rams at Levi's Stadium, and then close out the season in Seattle against the Seahawks.
