Arik Armstead is having an impressive 2019 campaign for the San Francisco 49ers and an impressive game on Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers. The defensive lineman currently has two sacks (a sack and two shared) on Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, which makes Armstead the first 49ers defender to record double-digit sacks this season with 10.

Armstead had a sack in the second quarter, then he and DeForest Buckner brought Rodgers down in the third. Armstead and safety Jaquiski Tartt got to Rodgers in the fourth quarter.

With names like Buckner and even rookie Nick Bosa along the defensive line, Armstead may not have been the favorite to reach 10-or-more sacks first, but the fifth-year defender is doing what he can to show the 49ers that he should be brought back next season.
Armstead's 10 sacks so far this season surpass his combined total from his first four NFL seasons — nine.
The defensive lineman is playing on the fifth-year option from his rookie contract and is scheduled to become a free agent after this season. The 49ers made Armstead, who played college football at Oregon, the No. 17 overall draft pick in 2015.
