Oct 31, 2019 at 2:02 PM--

Running back Tevin Coleman has earned his first league-sponsored award since joining the San Francisco 49ers. He has been named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week award winner because of his impressive Week 8 performance in the Niners' 51-13 win over the Carolina Panthers.

A $2,000 donation will be made in Coleman's name to the USO through FedEx Cares.

Coleman finished the game with 105 rushing yards on 11 carries (9.5 yards per attempt) with three rushing touchdowns. He also added two receptions for 13 yards and a touchdown reception.

The other award nominees were running backs David Montgomery of the Chicago Bears and James Conner of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Coleman was also named the Snickers 'Hungriest Player' of the Week, according to Matthew Asher of 49ers.com.

San Francisco signed Coleman in March, and Week 8 was his first 100-yard performance with his new team. The veteran running back has 332 rushing yards on 71 carries with five rushing touchdowns through five games and two starts this season.

The San Francisco 49ers' 2021 season opponent list has been finalized following the early games from Week 17's action. The NFL will not announce the dates and times for next season's schedule until April or May. This season's schedule was released on May 7, 2020. The team will also face the entire NFC North and AFC South divisions and this season's last-place opponents from the NFC South and NFC East — the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles. The NFL is also expected to add a 17th regular-season game to boost revenues and offset the losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
