It was reported on Sunday morning that the San Francisco 49ers are "aggressively pursuing" multiple trade options to add a wide receiver. Names such as A.J. Green, Emmanuel Sanders, and others have emerged as potential targets.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters on Monday afternoon and was asked about the report. More specifically, he was asked how much urgency there is to improve the receiver group before the trade deadline on October 29.
"I think less than we've had in the last couple of years because I do see that there are guys in our building," Shanahan responded, "that I do think the answers are here. It was tough not having Deebo (Samuel) last week (and), you know, [Marquise Goodwin] being a little bit banged up. We'll get both of those two back.
"The guys we have, I still think can continue to get better, and we're still holding out hope for Jalen (Hurd) and Trent Taylor, that they can heal up and, hopefully, return later this year.
"Always looking to improve, though, like you said, but I do like the guys we have here."
