The San Francisco 49ers might see Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon after all. Mixon suffered an ankle sprain during the Bengals' Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks and finished the game with 10 yards on six carries. Giovani Bernard replaced him.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network provided a couple of updates on Mixon's injury, and there is even a possibility that the running back might be available for the Bengals' Week 2 contest against the San Francisco 49ers.
#Bengals RB Joe Mixon is believed to have just an ankle sprain, sources say. A little swelling, but early reports optimistic. He'll have some tests to be sure.

Update: Mixon's MRI results came back "all good," source said. He might even have a shot to play Week 2 vs. #49ers. Either way, no extended absence expected. Good news for #Bengals. https://t.co/tmwIgUCA3R

The 49ers remained on the East Coast and are staying in Youngstown, Ohio this week as the team prepares for its September 15 matchup at Paul Brown Stadium.
San Francisco also lost a running back to an ankle sprain during its Week 1 contest, a 31-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. Tevin Coleman was ruled out at halftime and is having an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Coleman is expected to "miss time" due to the injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked after the game if he was concerned about his running back's status.
"Yes, I am," he responded.
#49ers RB Tevin Coleman suffered an ankle sprain in yesterday's win over the #Bucs, source said, an injury that is expected to force him to miss time. He's having tests today (in Youngstown, OH, where the team is staying) to determine the nature of the sprain.
