49ers sign CB Chris Campbell to a one-year deal, waive OL Dillon Day

The San Francisco 49ers have announced the signing of cornerback Chris Campbell to a one-year deal. The team waived offensive lineman Dillon Day in a corresponding move.

The Arizona Cardinals made Campbell a sixth-round selection out of Penn State last year, and waived him on September 1, 2018. The New Orleans Saints signed Campbell on October 16, 2018 and signed him to a reserve/future contract on January 21.

The Saints waived the 23-year-old Campbell on August 22.

The 49ers signed Day as a free agent on July 26. He entered the NFL with the Denver Broncos after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State in 2015. Day has also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers.

The San Francisco 49ers announced today that the team has signed offensive lineman William Sweet to a one-year deal. Sweet (6-6, 313) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina with the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. The Cardinals waived/injured him on August 31, 2019, and he reverted to injured reserve, where he spent the entirety of last season. Arizona waived the offensive lineman on February 18. Sweet, 23, appeared in 26 games with 14 starts for the Tar Heels from 2015 through 2018. As a junior in 2018, he started 10 games along the offensive line and helped North Carolina average 442.1 total yards of offense and 193.0 rushing yards per game.
